Triality is delighted to announce the appointment of James (Jim) Mittenthal as our Vice President of Consulting. Based in New York and Dallas, Jim brings to the table almost four decades of seasoned experience, where he has provided invaluable assistance to national law firms and law departments on an array of technology initiatives and general management issues.

Jim’s expertise lies in technology planning, selection, and implementation; information life cycle management, data mapping, records policy and governance; and litigation support and electronic discovery, including analytics, enterprise and legacy data review and production. He is also proficient in a wide range of legal practice and administration topics.

Jim is also a recognized industry thought leader. He has recently published white papers on “Defensible Disposition” and “Defensible Preservation of Legacy Systems” and hosted Webinars on “Shadow IT,” “The Expanding Scope of the E-Discovery Professional,” and “Where is My Data? 5 Ways to Improve Your Data Discovery, Mapping, & Compliance.”

In recent years, Jim has successfully led numerous significant engagements, including eDiscovery and forensics projects, strategic planning, and technology projects for several major law firms. He has also contributed to the design of matter management and knowledge management systems for Fortune 100 legal departments.

Jim has distinguished himself by serving as a testifying or consulting expert in technology-based cases. He has acted as a corporate witness in product liability and intellectual property matters, and he has carried out technology-based investigations and remediation assignments.

With a professional background encompassing the development of commercial software and custom applications for complex litigation and case management, his contributions have been embraced by law firms, major corporations, and government entities alike.

A product of the University of Michigan Honors Program, Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree. He also earned his Juris Doctor from Boston University. He is admitted to the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

In his new role as Vice President of Consulting, Jim will undoubtedly leverage his extensive experience, technical acumen, and understanding of the legal landscape to further enhance Triality’s commitment to offering unrivaled consulting services.
